How it works
Each phrase is tied to a short sequence of direction presses: up, down, left, right. You decide the phrases and the sequences.

Add, edit or delete phrases in the app. A few are ready to use, and you can change every one.

An Android phone
ASA is an Android app. There is no other device to buy.
A Bluetooth controller (optional)
A Bluetooth controller with a direction pad, if you have one. Or use the buttons on screen.
A short one-time setup
The app walks you through it. After that, ASA works with the screen off.
Who it's for
People who find speaking difficult, and the people who support them. ASA is a communication tool. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.

What is ASA?

Do I need to buy hardware?
No. ASA is software only. You can use the on-screen buttons, or pair a Bluetooth controller you already have.
Which controllers work?
Bluetooth controllers that send direction-pad presses.
Does it need the screen?
Setup needs the screen. Once ASA is switched on, it keeps listening for controller presses with the screen off. A sleep mode in the app blacks the screen out.
Is my data private?
Your phrases are saved on your phone. ASA listens only for controller key presses. It does not record, store or send screen text or personal details.
Can I rely on it in an emergency?
No. ASA is not an emergency device and cannot call for help. Do not depend on it in an emergency.
